The 2nd Delhi Young Master Stableford Championship was held at Delhi Golf Club from the 5th to the 7th of July. The event, as expected, attracted a field of 50+ golfers, which included 8 World-ranked boys and 5 World-ranked girls.
The first 2 days saw the local boy Dewan Kabir Nath use his local knowledge of the course and lead the field by a narrow 1 point. He was followed closely by Vedant Sirohi and Shat Mishra, and a further point behind were Pritish S.Karayat and Arjun Singh Bhatia. The 3rd day saw a keen battle between Vedant, Pritish, and Kabir. Eventually, Kabir made a mistake on the 15th hole, and both Pritish and Vedant took advantage, finished 1 point ahead, and proceeded to play the playoff. It took 1 hole for Vedant to prevail over Pritish and win the Delhi Stableford Championship.
The Girls’ division saw a battle between 4 girls: Mahreen Bhatia, Ragini Navet, Preitisha Kaur, and Vanya Bansal. After 2 days, Ragini led by 1 point from Mahreen, and a further 7 points behind were Preitisha & Vanya. The last day saw Mahreen take the lead on the very first hole, and from there on, it was tough catching her. Ragini had a bad day and settled for 2nd place, a further 5 points behind. Preitisha and Vanya were battling for 3rd place and finished on identical points after three rounds, but on count-back, Preitisha came 3rd.
