The 13th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour concluded on September 27 with the victory of Jasmine Shekhar at the Golden Greens Golf Club, Gurugram. Jasmine’s clinching victory was followed by great performances from Hitaashee Bakshi and Riddhima Dilawari, that secured them the position of the first and the second runners up.
Jasmine Shekhar ended her first round very efficiently with six under par, scoring consecutive birdies at 3, 4 and 5 and then again at 9, 12, 14 and 16. However, she played a tough second round. Though she managed to score a birdie at the 9th, she finished the second round with four over par, tying with Ridhima Dilawari at the first position, both with the score of two under par. Jasmine scored birdies at 3, 6, 9 and 11 in the third round, which resulted in a score of even par when the round ended. With a total score of two under par, Jasmine clinched victory.
In close pursuit of Jasmine were two talented women golfers, Ridhima Dilawari and Hitaashee Bakshi. Hitaashee had a difficult beginning, as she finished the first round tying third with Gaurika Bishnoi with one under par. She struggled further in the second round which she ended tying fifth with Anvvi Dahhiya(A Girls) with an even par score.
Hitaashee opened the third round with a birdie, and then there was no looking back for her. She putted in two other birdies at 4 and 12, and secured an even par at the end of the third round. She secured the second position with a total even par.
Ridhima Dilawari’s skills and strategies, as seen in the 13th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, were commendable. She started off leading at the second position at the end of the first round with three under par, opening her game with a birdie at 1, and then at 5, 11 and 12. She played an intriguing second round, tying up for the first with Jasmine and was leading at the end of the second round with an even par.
Ridhima opened the final round with a birdie at 1, and ended the round with three over par, thus scoring a total of one over par and securing the third position.
A great display of skills and strategies were also put up by Sneha Singh, Amandeep Drall, Vidhatri Urs, Khushi Khanijau, and Seher Atwal. While Sneha Singh tied for the fourth with Gaurika Bishnoi, and Amandeep Drall tied for the sixth with Snigdha Goswami, Vidhatri Urs tied at the tenth with Kriti Chowhan, Khushi Khanijau tied at the twelfth with Ananya Garg and Seher Atwal tied at the fourteenth with Nayanika Sanga.
The 13th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour was a testimony to a brilliant display of golfing skills, camaraderie, and determination showed by all the forty women golfers who took part in the tour. The competitive spirit of the tour is a testament to growing stature of golf in India, pointing towards an exciting scope for the sport in the days to come.
