Anshul Mishra, Kartik Singh and Vedant Paul win their respective categories in the IGU Eastern India Junior Boys Golf Championship 2024, being held at the Golmuri Golf Club from November 26 to November 29, 2024.

West Bengal golfer Anshul Mishra played a brilliant game from the first round itself. Starting off with 8-under 64 on the first round, he improved his game in the second round by posting a score of 9-under 63. In the third and the fourth round, however, he scored a 6-under 66 and 5-under 67 respectively. Finishing the final round with an overall score of an impressive 28-under 260, Anshul clinched victory in A&B Boys Combined category.

In tough chase of Anshul was Haryana golfer Kartik Singh. Opening with an 8-under 64 in the first round, Kartik trailed along with a 1-under 71 and a 3-under 69 in the second and third rounds respectively. However, Kartik ended the fourth round with an impressive score of 10-under 62, and finished second in A&B Boys Combined category, and won B Boys with an overall score of 22-under 266.

Delhi’s Pritish Singh Karayat, the leader of the first round with a brilliant 11-under 61, trailed along with a 1-over 73 in the second round. however, he made a comeback in the third and fourth round scoring a 6-under 66 and 4-under 68 respectively, and finished third at a total score of 20-under 268.

In B Boys, Punjab golfer Danish Verma (69-71-69-67) was in pursuit of Kartik Singh. With an overall of 12-under 246, Danish finished runner up, followed by Delhi golfer Anas Khan (69-69-71-71) who played the four rounds maintaining great consistency and finished second runner up in B Boys.

The participants of C Boys played three rounds only. Haryana’s Vedant Paul scored a 74 in three consecutive rounds, and securing a total of 222, won C Boys.

Aranyak Chakraborty: Runner Up, C Boys

In hot pursuit of Vedant, was West Bengal golfer Aranyak Chakraborty. Even though he made a better start with an even par score on the first round, he had a difficult second round where he scored a 76. However, in the third round he scored a 75. With an overall score of 223, Aranyak finished second in B Boys by displaying great golfing skills in the three consecutive rounds.

Uttar Pradesh golfer Raajveer Surri (80-72-77) carded a 229 after the three rounds and finished third in C Boys.

West Bengal golfers Krishiv Rungta (84-78-92) and Varish Mohta (81-73-76-73) finished fifth and eleventh in C Boys and B Boys respectively.
