Anshul Mishra wins the third leg of the IGU East Zone Junior Feeder Tour – the Bengal Junior Open 2025, co-sanctioned by Bengal Golf Association (BGA) and Bengal Olympic Association, that was being held at the prestigious Suryodaya Environmental Park and Training Area (SEPTA), Kolkata, from April 1 to April 2.

Anshul Mishra: Winner, Amateur and Bengal 9th States Games

Maintaining a consistent performance, Anshul Mishra scored a 1-under 71 in the second round, and at a total score of 2-under 142, won the Amateur category.

Tarun Ajay: Runner Up, Amateur and Bengal 9th State Games.

Tarun Ajay (78-73) and Samridh Sen (70-81) tied at a total score of 151, but playing a better second round, Tarun Ajay finished second, followed by Samridh Sen.
A group of golfers including Dishan Ghosh (78-76), Garv Lakhmani (78-76) and Suveer Kapoor (77-77) finished tied fourth at a total score of 154.

Abhishek Mitra and Sushil Kumar: Winner and Runner Up, Mid-Amateur category.

Overnight leader, Abhishek Mitra (84-79) won the Mid-Amateur category at a total score of 163, followed by Sushil Kumar (87-91) and Dinesh Sarda (109-103), who finished second and third at total scores of 178 and 212 respectively.

Col. Shreekant Tiwari: Winner, Senior category.

Col. Shreekant Tiwari (83-84) won the Senior category at a total score of 267.

Sana Hussain: Winner, Ladies category. 

Sana Hussain (101-86) played a better second round and won the Ladies category at a total score of 187.

This event is also a part of the 9th State Games. With a total score score of 2-under 142, Anshul Mishra won the Men’s category of the 9th State Games. Tarun Ajay and Samridh Sen finished at a total score of 151, but Tarun finished second shooting 1-over 73 on the second round, which was better than Samridh’s 81, who finished third. A team of golfers including Dishan Ghosh, Rayan Sao, Garv Lakhmani and Suveer Kapoor, finished tied fourth in the Men’s category of the 9th State Games.

Sana Hussain won the Ladies category of the 9th State Games at a total score of 187.

Suravi Mitra, from Bengal Olympic Association, said, “We are happy to organize the 9th States Games. We are focusing on a variety of different sports, especially golf, to attract more children towards the game. Congratulations to all the participants, and to the winners for showing such spirit”.

This event is a WAGR ranked event, the final round of which is scheduled to be held at the SEPTA grounds, tomorrow, on April 3.
