The prestigious AVT Champions Tour, aimed at promoting competitive golf among senior golfers in India, begins its first leg of the 2025 season at the historic Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) on January 20 and 21. Over 100 senior golfers will compete in the two-day championship, showcasing their expertise and camaraderie on one of the country’s most iconic courses. Launched in 2019 by Dilip Thomas—a former member of the International Golf Federation Olympic Golf Committee and the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation board—the tournament has become a hallmark event for senior amateur golfers, blending competition with friendship. As the first leg of the year, this event sets the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2025 season on the AVT Champions Tour.
