The start of the year 2025 is all set to bring in good news for Indians golfers and golf enthusiasts, for, Bryson DeChambeau, a reigning Major champion, is all set to tee off from India. This is for the first time after the sport was introduced by the British in 1829, that a player of such repute is going to tee off from India, as the International Series on the Asian Tour is expected to head to DLF Golf Club in India on January 30 to February 2, the week before LIV’s opening event of 2025.

The rest of the Crushers GC squad will also tee off from the DLF Golf Club at the Asian Tours yet-to-be-announced International Series event. The tour will be sanctioned by Asian Tour and backed by LIV Golf. It is also going to be a proud moment for Indian golf as India is hosting one of Asian Tour’s prestigious and elevated event for the first time, since the launch of the event in 2022.

Bryson said, “It will be a very important week for him (Bryson’s Crushers GC teammate, Anirban Lahiri). I will support him fully, and if everything works out, I am extremely excited about the opportunity to play in India. I have never been there, but it’s a country that has fascinated me. I have always loved being a global player and I greatly enjoy playing in as many countries as possible.”

Anirban Lahiri on the other hand, says, “I think we are almost there. There are just a few minor things on which we have to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. But yes, I think it will be massive for Indian golf fans if Bryson is there. Single-handedly, with what he does on the golf course and outside it through his social media channels and his interaction with fans, he has brought millions of new fans to our sport. I think we can all agree he is the most popular golfer in the world right now.”

As the Asian Tour’s International Series and LIV Golf League forge stronger connections next season, the arrival of stars like Bryson in new regions will not only captivate fans but also elevate the competitive landscape for Asian Tour players, giving them the chance to shine alongside golf’s biggest names. With the strengthened ties between the Asian Tour’s International Series and the LIV Golf League, next season will be a pivotal moment for golf. Introducing icons like Bryson to fresh audiences will inspire fans and empower Asian Tour players to test their skills against some of the sport’s greatest talents.
