The Bengal Classic 2024, the tenth leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour, and the ninth leg of the IGU East Zone Junior Feeder Tour, took place at the golf course of Fort William Environmental Park and Training Area (FWEPTA), on August 10. Despite harsh weather conditions with light to mediocre showers happening every now and then, an exciting game spirit was observed among junior and senior players alike. Alongside competitiveness and enthusiasm, the players were seen to have created great rapport amongst themselves and portrayed the best of their skills to do their part.

 

After the first round, Sumedh Gangal, from Hyderabad, is leading in the Amateur category, with one over par – 73, followed by Abhishek Mitra who has scored three over par – 75, after the end of the first round. Mitra is leading in the Mid Amateur category as well. Meanwhile, Rana Chatterji from the Super Senior category has scored a 107 as of now.

 

Arghya Shah from the A & B Boys category has put up an amazing performance and ended the first round with an score of 81 and is leading in the said category. Shah is followed by Aarav Kajaria, who is at a score of 85. Krishiv Rungta from C Boys has secured a score of 82 as of now, followed by Arkoprovo Chowdhury, who hasscored 86 and is standing a chance to become the first runner up in the said category.

 

Ayaan Mimani from D Boys is leading with a score of 97 after the first round. He is followed by Dhruv Patodia, who is giving him a great chase with the score of 103.

 

Participants from categories E Boys, E Girls and F Boys and Girls have played the first round in 9 holes. The participants from this categopry too ended the first round with great zeal and spirit. Jayansh Lakhotia is leading E Boys with a score of 50, after playing 9 holes, while Yugaansh Agarwal from the same category is in hot pursuit with a score of 54.

 

Khushi Baid is leading E Girls with a score of 62, after playing 9 holes. Meanwhile, Anwita Sinha is chasing Baid with a score of 65 after the first round came to an end. While Aativeer Jain from F Boys and Girls exhibited marvelous enthusiasm and put up a score of 50 after playing 9 holes, Adrika Bose from the Ladies category has been able to score a 100 as of now.
