The first two rounds of the CPKC Women’s Open 2025 at Mississauga Golf & Country Club have created an exciting setup for the weekend. Akie Iwai from Japan has been impressive, starting with an excellent score of 64 in the first round and then following up with a steady 69 on Friday. This brings her total to 9-under-par 133, giving her the lead by three shots as they head into the weekend.

Right behind her are some well-known players in women’s golf. Minjee Lee, Leona Maguire, and Atthaya Thitikul are all at 6-under, putting the heat on and making sure the last two rounds will be very competitive. As the weather is expected to change, the tournament is set for an exciting conclusion.

For Aditi Ashok, the first two days were a mix of control and quiet grit. She began with an even par score of 71 in Round 1, keeping herself safely above the cut line, and then improved her performance with a 69 in Round 2. This brought her score to 2-under for the tournament, putting her in a tie for 21st place. While she’s not very close to the leaders yet, Aditi’s consistent play has put her in a good position. With her usual calmness and sharp skills, she has a great chance to move up the leaderboard over the weekend.

As the competition heads into moving day, the big question is whether Iwai can keep her strong performance or if the group behind her, including well-known champions and steady players like Aditi, can narrow the gap. Either way, the weekend at Mississauga is sure to feature some exciting golf.
