The Bangalore leg of the AVT Champions Tour, held at the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) saw a tremendous turnout of 112 participants.

In the team categories, the Team Nett winners hailed from Chennai, comprising Arun Murugappan, K Dhananjay Das, Pramod Modgil, and Siddharth Lulla, who secured victory with a total score of 435. The runners-up were Team Inarah, consisting of Anil Jule, Azad Singh Ruhail, Bhupender Singh, and Rohit Kapoor, finishing closely with a compounded score of 439.

The Team Gross winners came from Bangalore, featuring David D’Souza, Sanjai Singh, Sumit Rathore, and Jehangir Tankariwala, who claimed first place with a total score of 457. They were followed by the Chandigarh team, including Sandeep Singh Sandhu, Jaspreet Bakshi, Col. Kuldip Singh Sandhu, and Kush Sama, who achieved a score of 462.

In the Ladies category, Anita Shrishriimal emerged as the winner, followed by Nalini Singh.

For the Individual handicap categories, in the 0-9 handicap category, Venkatesh Sundaravadhanam triumphed with a score of 141, while Madhav Kota was a close runner-up with 142. In the 10-18 handicap category, K Dhananjay Das secured the win with a score of 136, and Bhupender Singh came in as the runner-up in a countback with a score of 138.

In the age-based gross categories, Ashish Kapoor emerged as the winner in Category A (age 50-54) with a score of 154, followed by Shashidhar Reddy with 156. In Category B (age 55-59), Sandeep Sandhu excelled with an outstanding score of 148, with Gaurav Ghosh following at 151. Jehangir Tankariwala won Category C (age 60-64) with a score of 153, closely followed by Col. Kuldip Singh Sandhu at 155. In Category D (age 65-69), Ashwani Khanna emerged victorious with 165, followed by Ashit Luthra, who was the runner-up in a countback with 166. In the age 70 and above category, Navneet Singh clinched the win in a countback, closely followed by Brig. Harvinder Singh Dhillon, both scoring 169.

The overall winner of the event was David D’Souza, with an impressive score of 145 and a spectacular hole-in-one on the 4th hole. He was followed by Venkatesh Prabhu, who secured his position in a countback with a score of 148.

The Bangalore leg of the AVT Champions Tour was a resounding success, and we eagerly look forward to the next event of the season, scheduled from the 18th to the 20th of November at BPGC. The Mumbai leg is anticipated to have an even better turnout and more thrilling competition.
