The Pre-Quarter Final and the Quarter Final Match Play rounds of the IGU RCGC Junior Boys Golf Championship 2025 took place at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Kolkata on October 31.
In the first half of the day, a total of 8 match plays as a part of the Pre-Quarter Final, took place, in which Neil Jolly, Siddhant Nathan, Danish Verma, Krish Chawla, Harjai Milkha Singh, Shashank Sachin Gadre, Jaibir Singh Kang and Anshh Dubey qualified for the Quarter Final match play.
In the second half of the day, a total of 4 Quarter Final match plays took place, in which, Neil Jolly (4&3), Krish Chawla (3&2), Harjai Milkha Singh (3&2), and Anshh Dubey (3&2) qualified for the Semi Finals.
Anshh Dubey, one of the semi-finalists, who put up perhaps the most remarkable performance of the day by playing seven more sudden death holes after the 9 holes in the pre-quarter final, said, “I was pretty anxious at first, and in the play-off, I don’t know how, but I won. I feel that my luck played a great role today. However, I played some excellent golf in the quarter finals, and I qualified for the semi-finals. Tomorrow is surely going to be a big day”.
Sharing his happiness on his great performance on the course, Neil Jolly, who won the Stroke Play Qualifiers of the IGU RCGC Junior Boys Golf Championship 2025, and is currently a semi-finalist, said, “I feel pretty good. The only thing I am worried about is the front nine, where I am struggling a bit. The back nine is pretty much perfect. I am not planning anything special for tomorrow. Hopefully, I will be able to play the finals as well. I am going to keep the same mindset that I have kept over the past few days, and stick to my process”.
“My stroke play rounds were pretty good. The first match of the match play rounds was easy, but the last two matches were pretty tight”, said Harjai Milkha Singh, who has finished second in the Stroke Play Qualifiers after putting up a tough competition against Neil, and has now qualified for the semi-final.
“I played pretty well. My putting was good. My main strategy was to keep the ball in the fairway, and then to hit the ball on the green, and I will keep the same strategy for tomorrow – to hit as many fairways as possible, and hit as many greens too”, said Krish Chawla.

Harjai Milkha Singh, Anshh Dubey, Neil Jolly and Krish Chawla: Semi-Finalists
As the four semi-finalists combining categories A&B, qualified for the semi-finals match play are gearing up to put up a great show tomorrow, on November 1, preparations seem top-notch, as Harjai Milkha Singh says, “I will try hard to have fun tomorrow. I am just putting my best tomorrow to perform well on the fairways and greens”, which pretty much equivocates the strategy that all the semi-finalists look forward to applying on the course.
