East Point Golf Club, Visakhapatnam, hosted a Junior Skills League on November 29 and November 30.
The Junior Skills League 2025 consisted of 4 teams, namely, the Fairway Tigers, the Birdie Hunters, the Samurai Bombers and the Eagle Warriors.
Each team consisted of 9 junior golfers. Each team had a captain responsible for coordinating on behalf of the team.
A total of 5 skills were played over two days by the junior golfers. The 5 skills that were played in 3 shots each, are:
1. 3-feet Putt to the Hole for 1 point.
2. Chip through the Ring for 3 points.
3. Bunker Shot for 2 points on the green, 3 points on the target and 5 points in the hole.
4. Basket Chip to the Target for 2 points.
5. Long Putt to the circle for 1 point and hole for 3 points.
Each member of the teams participated in all the skills in the first round to earn points in 3 attempts. Played in a round robin format, each team was pitted against the other in the first round, following which, teams were ranked from the highest to lowest, as the teams’ score was the sum of their top 5 best scores and each team scored one league point on winning against their opponent team.
After the round robin first round ended, the teams Fairway Tigers and Birdie Hunters competed for the winning trophy, whilst the Eagle Warriors and Samurai Bombers competed for the third place.
Team Fairway Tigers consisting of Amyra, Heathan Appasani, Krishna Josya, Yuvika Gottapu, D. Tanvi, Aarya Sarwate, Samriddhi, An Yoshimura and Tashvi Garg, won the EPGC Junior’s Skills League 2025.
The Fairway Tigers were chased by team Birdie Hunters, consisting of Hans Viraj, Amrutha Raju Gorinta, Samaira Handa, Rhea Sarwate, Nandhini Vana, Jai Krishna, Abhinav Varma, Abhinav Reddy and Reet Mohanty, who finished second.
Yohan Gompa, Shreyan Majumdar, Joshua Salin, Gaurav Appasani, Rei Yoshimura, Astha Mishra and Aanya Reddy from team Eagle Warriors finished third, followed by team Samurai Bombers, including Bhavith Reddy, Arnav Varma, Rachna Satsangi, Hridhan Dhaka, Sanav Nekkanti, Irya Yelamanchili, Shreyan Koduru and Shanaya Mehra, who finished fourth.
The day ended with the winning team cheering with their trophies. The Samurais, Falcons and Tigers also rejoiced, and cheered each other for the great golfing moments and camaraderie each one showed during the game.
