Punjab golfer Gurmanjit Singh Dhillon shot a 3-under 69 in the first round to take a lead.
Maharashtra golfer Nikhil Pande shot a 1-under 71 and lay second, followed by a group of golfers including Punjab’s Sagar Uppal, Haryana’s Dilawar Singh, West Bengal’s Anshul Mishra and Karnataka’s Tanish R. Gowda, who lay tied third, chasing Nikhil, at an even par score of 72.
Punjab’s Kuldeep Singh Dhesi, Uttar Pradesh’s Vinamra Anand, Haryana’s Ribhav Verma and Chandigarh’s Harjai Milkha Singh lay tied seventh at a score of 1-over 73.
