Haryana golfer Rohit won the IGU North East Amateur Championship 2024, that was being held at the Jorhat Gymkhana Golf Club from November 26 to November 29.
Rohit started off with a 2-over 74 in the first round, and posted better scores of a 4-under 68 in the second round, and a 3-under 69 in the third and fourth rounds respectively. At a total of 8-under 280, Rohit won the Amateur category.
Making a better start at 1-over 73 in the first round, Delhi golfer Rakshit Dahiya scored a 2-under 70 in the second and third rounds consecutively. Posting a 1-over 73 in the fourth round, Rakshit finished second at an overall of 2-under 286.
Haryana golfer Anant Singh Ahlawat opened with an even par score in the first round, after which he posted a 2-over 74 and 4-over 76 in the second and the third rounds respectively. He played a great fourth round, scoring a 4-under 68, and finished third at a total score of 290.
West Bengal golfer Joysurjo Dey (75-77-76-74) was best placed tied twelfth with Delhi golfer Deepak Yadav (76-73-79-74) and Punjab golfer Ranveer Singh Pandher (71-75-77-79) at a total score of 302. Sandeep Yadav (77-73-73-80) tied fifteenth along with Uttar Pradesh golfer Vinamra Anand at a total score of 303.
