Jahnavi Prakhya shoots two-over 212 in three rounds to register a convincing six-shot win at The Eastern India Ladies, & Junior Girls Golf Championship 2022

Kolkata, May 26, 2022: The Eastern India Ladies, & Junior Girls Golf Championship 2022 was held at the Tollygunge Club from 24th to 26th of May 2022, and finished on a high note with some fantastic golf action, with 77 ladies and girls from India competing for the triumph. Ladies, Category A&B Girls, Category B Girls and Category C Girls were the categories for this event. The tournament was played under the pristine course condition of the Tollygunge Club over three days.

Jahnavi Prakhya of Chandigarh won the tournament with a two-over par (71-67-74) 212, followed by Puneet Kaur Bajwa of Punjab with an eight-over par 218 (77-70-71). “The course condition was excellent, and I want to congratulate the team Tolly for all of the arrangements..” remarked Jahnavi, the winner of Eastern India Ladies, & Junior Girls Golf Championship 2022.‘’I also want to thank IGU for promoting golf’’, she added. Punjab’s Puneet Kaur Bajwa has also emerged as a winner in A&B Girls with a score of 218, followed by Nishna Patel’s 219. Anaahat Bindra of West Bengal won Category B Girls with a score of 228, followed by Zara Anand of Uttar Pradesh, who was only two shots behind. Chandigarh’s Guntas Kaur Sandhu became the winner in Category C Girls with a score of 237, followed by Delhi’s Ayesha Gupta who shot 242.

Mr. Joydeep Datta Gupta – President, Tollygunge Club, Mr. Gaurav Ghosh – Captain, Tollygunge Club, & Managing Director – J Thomas, Mr. Anil Bhargava – President of Bengal Golf Association, Indian Golf Union Council member and Member of Bengal Olympic Association, Mr. Prantor Baruah, Tournament Director, presented the prizes on May 26th at the Far Pavilion of the Tollygunge Club. The Eastern India Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship 2022 is a national-level golf tournament that gathered girls and ladies from around India. The women and girls competed over three days in a stroke-play competition.
