Jakir Hussain Takes the Lead in Tolly Masters 2023 After Round One; Three-Way Tie in Junior Feeder Tour Featuring Aditya Khaitan, Ahaan Gupta, and Prashant Agarwal

In an exciting start to the Tolly Masters 2023, the ninth leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour 2023, Jakir Hussain from Assam emerged as the leader after round one. The event took place at the prestigious Tollygunge Club, where Jakir shot an impressive one over par 71. Rakshik Basu from Kolkata was lying in the second position with a score of three over par 73 in the amateur category.

In the mid-amateur category (35 to below 50 years), Jakir Hussain continued his outstanding performance and held the top position with a score of 71. Abhishek Mitra from Hyderabad was lying in the second spot on the leaderboard with a score of seven over par 77 after round one.

Among the senior category, Sumit Banerjee led the pack with a score of thirteen over par 83. AVSN Raju from Visakhapatnam also tied for the top position after round one. The battle in all categories promised an exciting competition for the remaining rounds.

The Tolly Masters 2023 also featured junior participants as part of the IGU Junior’s East Zone Feeder Tour 2023, presented by Keventer Agro. After round one, a thrilling three-way tie emerged in the category A&B Boys. Aditya Khaitan, Ahaan Gupta, and Prashant Agarwal, all shot an impressive five over par 75. Among the B Boys, Prashant Agarwal from Kolkata took the lead with a score of 75, closely followed by Dishan Ghosh in the second position.

In the C Boys category, Hredaan Raj Bihani from Kolkata held the top spot with a score of eleven over par 81. Krishiv Rungta, also from Kolkata, secured the second position with a score of 84 after round one. In the B girls category, Mehak Lohan from Kolkata led the pack with a score of twenty over par 90, while Gauri Sharma secured the second position with a score of fourteen over par 94.

Among the D Girls category, Julinka Roy Chowdhury held the lead with a score of 95, followed closely by Nahida Parvin in the second position with a score of 98 after round one. In the E Girls category (under nine years old division), Amaira Gulati showcased her skills by shooting an impressive two over par 36 (9 holes), placing her at the top of the leaderboard. Aarya Ganguly was lying at the second position with a score of 44.

In the under 9 years Boys category, Ayaan Mimani emerged as the leader with a score of 41, while Parikshet More stayed at the second position with a score of 48 after round one.

Despite the challenges posed by rain interruptions during play, the golfers exhibited remarkable resilience and determination. The sport of golf managed to capture the hearts of all spectators. The second round of the tournament is scheduled to commence at 7:30 am at the Tollygunge Club.
