Delhi golfer Kartik Singh played a gallant finale of 5-under 65 and won the IGU West Bengal Junior Boys Championship that concluded on November 22 at the Tollygunge Club.
Hitting 4 birdies in the back nine, Kartik, the overnight leader, who carded a 7-under 63 in the third round, posted an impressive total of 16-under 264, and won A&B Combined Boys category, as well as B Boys.
Chandigarh golfer Krish Chawla (66-68-67-66), who carded the best score in the first two rounds in succession, was placed second from A&B Boys at a total of 13-under 267.
Delhi’s Ranveer Mitroo (70-69-70-66) finished the finale at a total of 5-under 275 and was placed third from A&B Boys category.
West Bengal’s Anshul Mishra (70-67-67-71) was placed best at fourth at a total of 5-under 275.
Punjab’s Danish Verma (75-68-71-70) from B Boys carded a final score of 284 and was secured the position of the runner up. Haryana golfer, Prince Bainsla (72-75-73-73) scored a total of 293 and became the second runner up from B Boys.
The participants of C Boys played three rounds only. An exciting play-off between West Bengal’s Aranyak Chakraborty (80-74-72) and Delhi’s Aditya Misra (77-75-74) in the final round, determined the former as the winner from C Boys at a total of 226. Aditya secured the second position.
Haryana’s Vedant Paul (76-82-73) scored a total of 231 and was placed third from C Boys.
The finale of the IGU West Bengal Junior Boys Golf Championship concluded with the winners and runners up taking their awards.
