Odisha’s Kashika Mishra and Karnataka’s Saanvi Somu emerged as co-leaders for the second day at the IGU Northern India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship, which is being played at the Jaypee Greens, Wishtown, Noida, from November 19 to November 22.
Odisha’s Kashika Mishra from A Girls signed in for a 5-under 65 in round two to storm into a commanding eight-shot lead at a total of 8-under 132 and topped the Ladies & A&B Girls Combined category as well as A&B Girls Combined category, tied with Saanvi Somu, first day’s lead scorer.
Haryana’s Heena Kang shot a 2-under 68 in the second round and with a total of 6-under 134 after the second round was placed at the third position in the Ladies & Junior Girls Combined category. Heena also posed the leading score from the Ladies category.
Goa’s Rashi Mishra (74-74) posted a total of 148, and emerged as the leader from B Girls.
Chandigarh’s Ojaswini Saraswat continued as the leader from C Girls by posting a 1-under 69 on the second day with a total of 6-under 134.
Karnataka’s Keerthana Rajeev Nair (68-68) posted a 4-under 136 and was placed as the third lead from A&B Girls Combined category, and fourth lead from Ladies & A&B Girls Combined category.
Haryana’s Lavanya Jadon (64-73) and Karnataka’s Leya Viswanathan (75-73) from Ladies category were placed at the second and third positions with total scores of 3-under 137 and 148 respectively.
Delhi’s Anuska Gupta (70-68) and Haryana’s Naina Kapoor (69-72) continued holding the second and the third leading positions from Category C Girls with total scores of 138 and 141 respectively.
Delhi’s Rehnoor Malik (72-79) from B Girls, who was the lead scorer after the first round, trailed along with a total of 151, and was placed at the second leading position followed by Shiksha Jain (76-77) from Rajasthan who was placed at the third leading position in Category B Girls with a total score of 153.
West Bengal’s Shinjini Mukherjee (77-73) from Ladies category and Mehak Lohan (78-76) from B Girls were placed at the fourth position from their respective categories with total scores of 150 and 154 respectively.
Great golfing prowess was displayed by Mannat Brar (65-72), Zara Anand (72-67) and Anvvi Dahhiya (74-70). All eyes are set on the third round of the IGU Northern India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship that is going to be conducted tomorrow, on November 21.
