The Driving Range of the Tolly Golf Centre remains more crowded during the weekends than normal weekdays. To top this, Protouch Golf Academy had organized a Junior Skills Competition that spanned between August 24 and 25. Consequently came many youngsters, aspiring golfers who participated in the said competition, to display their skills of chipping and putting.

Amidst all the hustle-bustle, the Protouch correspondents caught Khushi Baid for a short chit chat, while she was practising chipping with her coach, after the competition was over. Khushi Baid is a student of Mahadevi Birla World Academy, and has been a student in Protouch Golf Academy for the last three years. Little Khushi Baid was very happy to talk about her triumphs, trials and personal growth.

Why did you choose golf?

Khushi, “Golf is a fun game”.

Why do you like your coach?

Khushi: Swapan sir (Swapan Tung) coaches me at Protouch Golf Academy. He helps me a lot and he is pretty kind”.

What skills did you learn in the Academy?

Khushi: I have learnt a lot of skills and I have improved a lot since the time I joined. My chipping and putting skills, especially, have improved quite a lot.

Did you enjoy displaying your skills on August 24 and 25?

Khushi: On August 24, I did chipping, and on August 25, I did putting at the Junior Skills Competition (August). This time, my experience of chipping and putting were not good at all, as I couldn’t secure the winning positions. But, yes, I have improved a lot already, and I will try to improve more and more in the future.

Do you like coming to the Golf Academy?

Khushi: I come to the play in the Academy twice a week, and I like practising and playing here.

Does it make you happy when you win a prize?

Khushi: I came first in the E Girls category in the last tournament (BGA and Protouch’s Bengal Classic 2024). So, I am happy.

Where do you see yourself in the coming years?

Khushi:I want to play the Olympic games and represent my country. I want to come first in every Olympic and win gold medals.

Khushi’s coach resonated her desires, as he said, “Khushi is a very dedicated child. She loves her game and loves taking up challenges and playing tournaments. I really hope that she will make us all proud in the future”.
