Kolkata, July 15, 2022: Sandeep Yadav (AKA Lalu), a local talented golfer from Kolkata, put on a great show at the eighth leg of the IGU Eastern India Amateur Golf Feeder Tour 2022, eventually winning by one stroke, shooting 6-over par in both days combined round (146), and clinching the championship title.  It was a three-way tie between three of Kolkata’s top seeds, Tapash Sardar, Gurshaan Singh Grewal, and Ribhav Verma, who all shot 7-over par 147, but Tapash Sardar wins on countback (Better score on the back nine of round two).

Sandeep ‘Lalu’ Yadav is a regular on the Indian Golf Union’s main tour and one of the best golfers from Eastern India. He was 1 shot behind round one leader Ribhav Verma, but played a remarkable final-day round of 2- over par to surpass all other top amateur golfers on the leaderboard.  Kolkata’s SK Rafick wins the mid amateur Title with a score of 12-over par 152, followed by Amit Kumar Saraogi who shot 164.

Ashit Luthra won both the senior and super senior titles after shooting a 20-over-par 160. Another top senior amateur, Kuo Thai Chiang, finished second among seniors, while Subroto Kundu finished second among super seniors, shooting 189. Nikita Biswas won the ladies title after shooting 159, followed by Adreeja Ghosh (187).
