Nikhil Choudhury wins the North East Amateur Masters 2025 – 12th Leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour, a key event on the Feeder Tour circuit, that brings together the finest amateur, senior and ladies golfers, not just from the North Eastern region, but also from all over the country.
The North East Amateur Masters 2025 was being held at the scenic Rhino Environment Park & Training Area in Assam, from December 6 to 7.
Playing a better second round, overnight leader Nikhil Choudhury (74-73) won the Amateur and Mid-Amateur categories at an overall score of 147, shooting a 2-over 73 in the second round.
While Bimal Kumar Pandey (80-75) finished second in the Amateur as well as Mid-Amateur categories by playing a better second round, with an overall score of 155, G. Suresh Sharma (87-76) and Aditya Bordolai (79-84) jointly finished third in the Amateur as well as the Mid-Amateur categories with an overall score of 163.
Overnight leader S. Abbasi (73-76) won the Senior category at a overall score of 149. Incidentally, S. Abbasi’s score is the second highest among all the Amateur, Mid-Amateur, Senior, Super Senior and Ladies golfers.
While Kalyan Sahu (75-78) finished second in the Senior category at an overall score of 153, K. Indrajit (83-76) finished third in the Senior category at an overall score of 159.
While, K. Indrajit happened to be the top finisher in the Super Senior category, Samarendra Basumatary (86-83) and Pradeep Nunisa (91-86) finished second and third in the Super Senior category, with overall scores of 169 and 177 respectively.
Organised under the guidance of the BGA, the championship continues to strengthen its role in developing golf talent among Amateur golfers all over the country, especially in the North East.

The North East Amateur & Amateur Masters has grown steadily over the years, offering a competitive platform for young and emerging golfers. The event plays an important role in promoting structured Amateur and amateur participation, strengthening the Feeder Tour pathway, and inspiring new talent in the region.
