Overnight leaders Heena Kang and Kaya Daluwatte maintain their lead after the conclusion of the second round of the IGU Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship, which is being held at the East Point Golf Club, Vishakhapatnam, from December 17 to December 20.
Haryana golfer Heena Kang, who finished the first round with a 1-under 71, scored a 2-over 74, and finished the second round as the lead scorer in the Ladies category as well as Ladies & A & B Girls categories at a total score of 1-over 145.
Sri Lanka golfer Kaya Daluwatte maintained a consistent score of 2-over 74 in the second round of the tournament, and at a total score of 148, maintained lead in A & B Girls category, and second position in Ladies & A & B Girls category.
Punjab golfer Mannat Brar (75-74) finished second in A & B Girls category, and third in Ladies & A & B Girls category, at a total score of 149 after the second round.
Uttar Pradesh golfer Zara Anand (76-74) played a better second round, and finished tied third with Maharashtra golfer Anuradha Chaudhuri (75-75) in A & B Girls category at a total score of 150 after the conclusion of the second round.
In Category B Girls, Chandigarh golfer Guntas Kaur Sandhu maintained a consistent score of 78 in the second round, and maintained lead at a total score of 156. Guntas was chased by her strictest competitors Delhi’s Ahaana Kashyap (80-77), and Goa’s Rashi Mishra (79-78), who tied second at a total score of 157.
Playing a better second round, Gujarat golfer Esther Marie Fernandes Lobo (80-78) finished second in the Ladies category with a total of 158. West Bengal golfer, Shinijini Mukherjee, who finished the first round at second, had a tough second round, in which she scored an 81, and with a total of 159, finished third after the second round.
The participants of Category C Girls will play three rounds only, their first round being held on December 18. Rajasthan golfer Ojaswini Saraswat posted lead in C Girls in the first round with a score of 75. Haryana golfer Naina Kapoor and Karnataka golfer Aida Thimmaiah scored an 81, and tied second in C Girls.
