The Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Kolkata, is all set to hold the IGU RCGC Junior Boys Golf Championship 2025 from October 27 to November 2.
Junior golfers across the country are expected to register and participate in the tournament. With the practice round scheduled on October 27, the excitement and the level of competition is going to be peaking high in the days to follow.
The format of this tournament is a unique one, where the participants of Category A&B Boys will play two rounds of stroke play starting tomorrow, October 28, followed by rounds of match play. The top 32 participants combining A&B Boys over the two rounds of stroke play, will be qualified to play the match play rounds.
A total of 16 matches will be played by the participants combining categories A&B Boys, on the first Match Play round, scheduled to be held on October 30. The participants qualifying for the Pre-Quarter Finals Match Play on October 31, will play 8 matches in the first half of the day to qualify for the Quarter Final Match Play where 4 matches will be played in the second half of the day to decide the semi-finalists.
The players qualifying for the Semi finals Match Play will play 2 matches on November 1, combining the categories A&B Boys. The Finals of Match Play, that will finally decide the winner of the IGU RCGC Junior Boys Golf Championship 2025, is scheduled to be held on November 2, with a game played over 36 holes. In case of a tie for the first place, a sudden death from the first hole will be applied to decide the winner.
While the participants of categories A&B Boys will tee off from the white tee markers, the players of C Boys will tee off from the red tee markers.
The participants of category C Boys will play stroke play format over three rounds, commencing tomorrow, October 28 to October 30, with the prize distribution ceremony for C Boys scheduled on the final round, October 30.
The course par has been reduced to 70 for the IGU RCGC Junior Boys Golf Championship.
