Rohit with his IGU Northern India Amateur Champion’s Trophy

The IGU Northern India Amateur Golf Championship 2024, held at the Noida Golf Club, commenced on August 26, and was wrapped up today on August 30, after a marvellous showdown of skills and prowess from more than 50 amateur golfers from all over the country. After a three round match, Rohit, from Haryana, secured a valiant triumph, with a four under par, at the end of the ultimate round. Vinamra Anand from Uttar Pradesh, and Jaiveer from Karnataka, secured the position of the first and the second runners up simultaneously.

In the 18 holes golf course at Noida, the golfing round started on August 27, with Haryana’s Rohit, scoring one over par, at the end of the first round. However, he managed to pick the game up under his grip with two under in the second day. Rohit’s third day with five under par set the standards high, and on the ultimate round, he took a birdie in the very first hole, naturally raising the expectations. He managed to putt in another birdie at 12, and with a total score of four under par, Rohit secured the position of the champion.

On the other hand, Vinamra Anand put up a tough competition against Rohit. He ended the opening round with a par, and balanced his scores with Rohit at the end of the second round. However, he struggled hard during the third round, which he ended with a par, against Rohit’s five under par. His performance on the final round was much better than his third round. Vinamra putted a birdie in the very first hole, just like Rohit, and ended the final round with two under par. With a total of four under par as well, Vinamra became the first runner up.

Karnataka’s Jaiveer, who secured the position of the second runner up, put up a hot pursuit to secure a total of three under par, with an amazing display of skills. His final round was filled with birdies at 8, 9, 14, 16 and 17, as he finished the ultimate round with a total of three under par.

The IGU Northern India Amateur Golf Championship 2024 was a testimony to many unforgettable moments and standout performances. The day ended with exceptional golfing moments, promising better thrill at the Noida Golf Club in the days to come.
