The Rotary Golf Classic 2025, called “Par for Prevention,” ended on October 11 at the Tollygunge Club.
It was a two-day event that brought together golf and a good cause. The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Calcutta Midtown, along with the Rotary Club of Park Point and the Rotary Club of Garden Reach. The aim was to collect money for giving cervical cancer vaccines to poor girls in Kolkata. The event, led by Hitesh Dani, president of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Midtown, raised 1 crore rupees. Vaccination camps will start this Sunday in Maniktala, targeting 200 girls under 15 years old. The goal is to reach 2,500 girls over the next three months.

Tournament Format

The tournament was held at two well-known places: Royal Calcutta Golf Club on the first day and Tollygunge Club on the second.
Around 100 golfers from Malaysia, Nepal, Delhi, Ranchi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata took part. The scoring was based on net scores using the Gross Stroke Play method. Handicaps were calculated using the Double Peoria system.

The Rotary Golf Classic 2025 not only showed the spirit of competition and good sportsmanship but also proved how golf can help make a real difference in the community. On the evening of the prize distribution, there was an auction where players bid on unique limited edition golf equipment, such as belts, clubs, golf bags, and more. The entire proceeds went towards the cause.
As the vaccination camps are set to start, the impact of this event will go far beyond the golf course.

Mr Nirmal Agarwal, Member of the organising committee, said,” What a weekend it’s been! Two days of great golf, amazing energy, generous hearts… and a mission that united us all. Thanks to the support of our players, donors, volunteers, and well-wishers, we didn’t just host a tournament – we achieved our fundraising goal to vaccinate 2,500 young girls against cervical cancer. Every swing, every bid, every smile counted. Congratulations to our tournament winners, as attached above, but the biggest winner was humanity and your generosity! A huge round of applause to each of you who teed off with heart and purpose. Together, we’ve proven that when sport meets service, magic happens. Till next year then, when we return with the same purpose and a bigger goal, thanks to your motivation and support!”
