News

Moving Day at the FedEx St. Jude Championship was exciting for many reasons, like the hot weather, changes on the scoreboard, and several players making a strong push towards the top. By the time the sun set, Tommy Fleetwood was still on top, but his lead was smaller than it had been during the week.

Fleetwood Stays in Control

Fleetwood didn’t play as smoothly as he did in the first two rounds. He had a tough start with a double bogey on the par-5 3rd hole, but he didn’t let it knock him down. Thanks to good shots and some important putts, he shot a 3-under 69, bringing his total to 14-under for the tournament. He is still trying to win his first PGA TOUR title, and now he will have to fight hard with the pressure on Sunday.

Rose is Close Behind

Justin Rose showed that he is a strong competitor. He hit great approach shots and putted well with just one mistake. With 14 pars, three birdies, and one bogey, he finished at 13-under, just one shot behind and ready for a close contest in the final group.

Scheffler Rises to the Challenge

Scottie Scheffler, the world’s number one player, had one aim for Saturday: to get back into the competition. He succeeded. With an impressive 65, he moved to 12-under, only two shots off the lead. He will be playing in the second-to-last group on Sunday and has the skills to score low if his putting stays strong.

Others in the Battle

J. J. Spaun and Andrew Novak both shot a 65 to reach 11-under, keeping their chances alive. Four other players, Ben Griffin, Rickie Fowler, Chris Kirk, and Akshay Bhatia, are at 9-under, still in the competition and looking for a strong final round to make a move.

3. Scottie Scheffler – 12 under
T4. J. J. Spaun – 11 under
