Saanvi Somu takes a lead at 6-under 64 at IGU Northern India Ladies & Junior Championship that is being hosted from November 18 to November 21 at the Jaypee Wish Town, Noida.
Karnataka’s Saanvi Somu opened the first round with several birdies which culminated in an impressive score of 6-under 64. With this, she secured lead not only from A&B Girls, but also from Ladies & A&B Girls Combined category.
Saanvi tied with Haryana’s Lavanya Jadon, who posted a 6-under 64 as well, but posted the leading score on countback. Lavanya is leading the Ladies category, and has been able to hold the second leading position from Ladies & A&B Girls Combined category.
Securing a 5-under 65, Chandigarh’s Ojaswini Saraswat posted the leading score from C Girls.
Delhi’s Rehnoor Malik started off with a 2-over 72 on the first round, and posed the leading score from B Girls.
Haryana’s Heena Kang and Karnataka’s Leya Viswanathan scored 4-under 66 and 75 and chased Saanvi to post the second and third leading scores. Heena also secured the fourth leading score from Ladies & A&B Girls Combined category.
Punjab’s Mannat Brar posted a 5-under 65 in the first round and went on to secure the second leading position from A&B Girls Combined category and third leading position from Ladies & A&B Girls Combined category.
Uttar Pradesh’s Shambhavi Chaturvedi and Goa’s Rashi Mishra secured the second leading score of 74.
Haryana’s Naina Kapoor and Delhi’s Anuska Gupta from C Girls secured the second and third leading positions with 1-under 69 and a level par score respectively.
Great golfing prowess was displayed by West Bengal’s Shinjini Mukherjee (77), Karnataka’s Keerthana Rajeev Nair (68), Keya Badagu (70), Zara Anand (72), Anvvi Dahiya (74) and West Bengal’s Mehak Lohan (78).
All eyes are set on the second round of the IGU Northern India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship, that is going to be conducted tomorrow on November 20.
