Sanu Das, Abhishek Mitra, Sumit Banerjee, Dishan Ghosh and Ishikha Bansal win their respective categories in the final round of the Eastern Amateur Tour Championship – the 13th and the final leg of the event, and the Protouch Junior Golf Championship – the 12th leg of the event, being held in the Tollygunge Club from November 26 to November 27.

In these prestigious tournaments, there were 4 age categories for men, and a separate ladies category, and 5 age categories for both junior boys and junior girls.

Sanu Das scored a one over 71 in the second round, and with a total of four over 144, he won the Amateur category. Sanu was chased by Samridh Sen, who scored a three over 73 for the day, and finished second at a total of 147. Playing a better second round scoring a 75, Abhishek Mitra finished second runner up in the Amateur category at a total score of 157.

Abhishek Mitra also won the Mid-Amateur category with a total score of 157. He also won the Order of Merit in Amateur and Mid-Amateur categories.

Mr. Jaydeep Chitlangia (81-79) won the Senior category at a total score of 160. At a total of 168, Mr. B.V Srihari Rao (92-76) secured runner up. Mr. Ashit Luthra (83-88), who won the Super Senior category with an overall score of 171, secured second runner up in Senior category as well.

Capt. Rana Chatterji (122-126) finished second in the Super Senior category at a total of 248. Capt. Chatterji also won the Order of Merit in Super Senior category.

In the Ladies category, Anwesha Das secured win with an overall score of 175, and was chased by Shrishti Rani who posted a total of 199 to secure runner up in Ladies category.

An impressive play off took place between Dishan Ghosh and Arghya Shah. Dishan (76-80) emerged as the winner in A&B Boys, at a total score of 156. His toughest competition, Arghya (73-83)  finished second at a total of 156, and also won B Boys. At a total of 159, Hredaan Raj Bihani (79-80) finished second runner up in A&B Boys, and runner up in B Boys.

Arkaprovo Chaudhury (84-82) scored a total of 166 and won C Boys. Armaan Bhoopal posted an 89 in the two consecutive rounds, and at a total score of 178, finished second. Vivaan Jawanpuria (96-85) scored an overall of 181, and finished second runner up in C Boys.

Ishikha Bansal (88-93) won A&B Girls and B Girls with an overall score of 181. Anjika Fatehpuria finished second in A&B Girls at a total of 183. Akansha Jaiswal scored a 108 in the second round and finished third in A&B Girls, and second in B Girls at a total score of 224. Uravi Mall posted a 115 in the second round and with a total of 235, finished third in B Girls.

Julinka Roy Chowdhury (92-88) scored an overall of 180, and won C Girls. Naina Dinodiya and Nandini Rathee finished second and third in C Girls with overall scores of 216 and 217 respectively.

Ayaan Mimani (89-90) of D Boys scored an overall of 179 and secured win from his category. Ayaan was chased by Dhruv D. Patodia and Parikshet More, who scored an overall of 192 and 196, and secured runner up and second runner up in D Boys respectively.

Vaanyaa Rustagi (93-95), Hissi Besra (114-103) and Vaasvi Himatsingka (110-118) were placed first, second and third with total scores of 188, 217 and 228 respectively.

E Boys and E Girls played a total of 18 holes over two rounds. Yugaansh Agarwal (44-41) emerged winner form E Boys with an overall score of 97, followed by Yashveer Ahuja (44-46) and Aativeer Jain (44-48) who posted total scores of 90 and 92 to become the runner up and second runner up in E Boys respectively.

Anwita Sinha (53-44) posted a win in E Girls with an overall score of 97. Anwita was chased by Advika Agarwal (48-64) who scored a 112 and secured the second position in E Girls.

The Eastern Amateur Tour Championship is an WAGR-ranked event. Being the 13th and final leg, six golfers including Sanu Das, Samridh Sen, Abhishek Mitra, Jashan Shah, Suveer Kapoor and Saquib Hussain, qualified for the IGU Gentleman’s Tour.

The WAGR round will be played in the Tollygunge Club on November 29.

The final round of the Easter Amateur Tour Championship – 13th leg and the Protouch Junior Golf Championship – 12th leg concluded with Brig. V. Ganapathy, CEO, Tollygunge Club, and Mr. H.S Bindra, Captain, Tollygunge Club, felicitating the winners and the runners up from the several categories with prizes.

The Protouch Junior Golf Championship not only provides a platform for young golfers to compete but also underscore the rising talent in the region. The IGU East Zone Junior Feeder Tour continues to foster and showcase the promising future stars of Indian golf.
