Sanu Das, G. Suresh Sharma, Arghya Shah and Ishikha Bansal soar to the top from their respective categories on the first round of the Eastern Amateur Tour Championship 2024 – the 13th and the final leg of the Championship, and the Protouch Junior Golf Championship 2024 – the 12th leg of the IGU East Zone Junior Feeder Tour 2024 which is being held at the Tollygunge Club, from 27 November to 28 November, 2024.

In Amateur category, Sanu Das posted a leading score of three over 73 in the first round.
A regular at the Tollygunge Club, Samridh Sen scored the second lead of 74 in Amateur category.
Tony Mondol posted the third leading score of 79 in the first round in Amateur category.
Posting an 81 in the first round, Mr. G. Suresh Sharma took the lead in the Mid-Amateur category. His score culminated in him, scoring a 72 Nett score and take a lead in the Individual Nett category.
Avid golfer, Mr. Abhishek Mitra secured an 82 to secure the second lead in the Mid-Amateur category.
Mr. Jaydeep Chitlangia scored an impressive 81 to secure lead in the Senior category. With a Nett score of 77, he took the second lead in the Individual Nett category.
Mr. Chitlangia’s toughest competitor in the first round, Mr. Ashit Luthra posted an 83, the leader in Super Senior category and the second lead in Senior category.
Mr. Ashit Luthra also secured the third leading position in the Individual Nett category with a Nett score of 78.
Mr. Sumit Banerjee secured the third leading position in the Senior category with a first round score of 83.
Capt. Rana Chatterjee secured the second leading position in the Super Senior category with a score of 122.
With a first round score of 90, Anwesha Das posted a lead in the Ladies category, followed by Shrishti Rani, who posted a 96, to secure the second lead in the Ladies category.
In A&B Boys and B Boys, Arghya Shah posted a leading score of three over 73 after the first round after a tough competition. Dishan Ghosh posted the second leading score of 76 in A&B Boys, followed by Hredaan Raj Bihani, who posted a 79, the third leading score in A&B Boys as well as the second leading score in B Boys.
Putting an 80 together in the first round, Arrham Jain and Manan Bagrecha tied fourth in A&B Boys, and third in B Boys.
With a 84, Arkaprovo Choudhuri led C Boys, followed by Armaan Bhoopal and Vivaan Jawanpuria who scored an 89 and a 96 respectively.
Ishikha Bansal posted the leading score of 88 in both A&B Girls as well as in B Girls. Anjika Fatehpuria was Ishikha’s toughest competitor, who chased her to the second leading position in A&B Girls with a 90. Akansha Jaiswal posted a 116, which placed her at third in A&B Girls and at second in B Girls.
With a 120, Uravi Mall was placed at the third in B Girls, after the first round concluded.
Julinka Roy Chowdhury led C Girls with a 92, while Naina Dinodiya and Nandini Rathee were placed second and third with scores of 103 and 114 respectively.
With an 89, Ayaan Mimani led D Boys. Parikshet More and Dhruv D. Patodia tied second with 95 in D Boys.
Vaanya Rustagi scored a 93, and led the D Girls. Vaasvi Himatsingka (110) and Aarya Jhunjhunwala (113) were placed second and third in D Girls respectively.
E Boys and E Girls played 9 holes in the first round. With a 44, three players, including Yugaansh Agarwal, Aativeer Jain and Yashveer Ahuja tied at the leading position in E Boys.
Advika Agarwal posted the leading score of 48, and Anwita Sinha scored a 53, the second leading score in E Girls.
The Eastern Amateur Tour Championship 2024 and the Protouch Junior Golf Championship are going to be played over 36 holes, and above 50 amateurs, seniors and ladies, and 50 budding golfers all over India are all prepared to tee off tomorrow at 08:00 am.
There are 4 age categories for men, and a separate ladies category.
There are 5 age categories for both junior boys and junior girls. Tough competition is going to unfold between the budding golfers who are eager to display impressive talent.
The Eastern Amateur Tour Championship is a WAGR-ranked event. This event, being the final leg of the Amateur Feeder Tour, the top 6 players will qualify for the IGU Gentleman’s Tour. This event is also going to disclose the winners of the Order of Merit from each category after the completion of the two rounds.
The Protouch Junior Golf Championship not only provides a platform for young golfers to compete but also underscore the rising talent in the region. The IGU East Zone Junior Feeder Tour continues to foster and showcase the promising future stars of Indian golf.
