Indian golfer Shubhankar Sharma, accompanied by his coach Jesse Grewal and beloved family, is gearing up for an exciting third campaign at the prestigious British Open, set to commence tomorrow. Having previously participated in the Open in 2018 and 2019, Sharma secured commendable 51st positions on both occasions. With a wealth of experience under his belt, he now anticipates a promising performance at this year’s tournament.

To prepare for the event, Sharma diligently honed his skills by engaging in practice rounds at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, the event’s host after a gap of nine years. Visiting the venue last month allowed him to familiarize himself with the course and fine-tune his game.

For Sharma, the British Open holds a special place in his heart as it coincides with his birthday. Turning 27 on July 21, he finds it serendipitous that the tournament aligns with this joyous occasion. Fond memories of his childhood are intertwined with the Open, as he recalls eagerly watching the event on television back in India. The tournament’s telecast timing perfectly matched his availability after school, making it an annual tradition for him. The Open’s proximity to his birthday also added to the festivities, creating a double celebration during his formative years.

Clearly excited and motivated by these cherished memories, Sharma is now all set to embark on his latest quest at the British Open. With the support of his coach, Jesse Grewal, and the love of his family, he aims to make this campaign an unforgettable one and leave a lasting mark on this esteemed championship.
