Protouch organized the BGA Game Of Life Skills League, which is a part of the 6th Protouch Junior Skills League, on December 30 at the Tolly Golf Centre, Tollygunge Club, Kolkata.
The league consisted of 4 teams, each team consisting of 10 juniors each. Each of the 4 teams had a captain, and two vice-captains.
An auction was held on December 29 to determine the Captain and the two Vice Captains of each of the 4 teams. A second auction was also held on the same day, where the captains and the vice-captains chose their players from the pool of players to finalize the teams.
On December 30, the first round was played in round robin format where each team played against each other. In the first round, each member of a team participated in the five different skills and achieved points for performance in each skill.
The team’s score will be the sum of their best five scores, and on winning a match against another team, they will win one league point.
After the first round, two teams were ranked from highest to lowest league points earned. For the final round, the two teams with the lowest league points from the first round competed for the third place, whereas the top two teams competed against each other. That determined the overall champion of the BGA Game of Life Skills League, a part of the 6th Protouch Junior Skills League.
For the final round, one player will compete against another player of the opponent team individually.

“This Skills League was an eye-opening experience to see the children handling pressure of their own team mates & their opponents.
Wonderful to see the camaraderie between an 8 year old and a 15 year. Participation in such Leagues will develop their skills and ability to handle pressures”, said Anil Bhargava, President of Bengal Golf Association.

Captain of the winning team, IGN Gladiators, Aryaveer Agarwal says, “This tournament is was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to lead a team. Staring from many days earlier, all the way from choosing my vice captains and auctioning my players, the excitement built up till the very end, including the pressure that came with matches. We all wanted to go out there and do our best to win but o never made any strategy, all I told to my team was to give it their all. At the end when it all came to down to the last putt but it wouldn’t be possible without my team. The win brought me great joy, especially the fact that everyone said we had no chance. Helping my teammates and celebrating with them was a lot of fun and I know forward to the next season“.
