I think it is fair to say that for the most of us, the winter season is the most dreaded season of the year. It is cold and gloomy and we all want to stay inside under the comfort of our blankets. But with each passing day, the one thing that helps us to go out everyday is our fitness regime. The workouts keeps you warm and it also provides an outlet for your stress. There is no doubt that regular exercise is good for your health but it also has numerous other benefits which is why you should include it in your daily routine. And during the winters you combine the benefits of exercising with a reduction in the cost of heating. Indoor workouts are a very good alternative to outdoor workouts.
When you exercise indoors, we use fewer calories to produce the same heat as when exercising outside. This effects even more when you workout during the winters, where you can save on your heating bill at the same time as working out.

In winters, the in house workout is better than going to the gym as the air outside might be very cold, but if you have a heated home then that would not matter. Staying at home means that you won’t have to contend with the vast crowds of people who frequent gyms during this time of the year. Indoor exercises are is much better for your health than outdoor exercise due to the lack of pollution and exercise related injuries caused by ice or frost on the ground. To keep yourself motivated you can always take the help of listening to your favorite music. So by starting your workout with music, you can keep yourself motivated and charged up for the workout.

HERE’S A LIST OF ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO INDOORS IN THE WINTER

1.Jumping jacks is a very efficient exercise that you can do in your living room without even using any equipment.

2.Wall push ups are not only very good for building upper body strength, but they also work your core muscles.

3.Plank exercises are great for strengthening your core muscles and working on your balance. You can do this exercise with either hands or fore fingers or toes.

4.Yoga is an excellent workout for both mind and body and so if you are looking to burn fat and tone muscles, yoga’s a good place to start doing your routine.

5.Light run on the treadmill or a brisk walk when heading outside in winter to get some fresh air.

6.Bouncing on a exercise ball will give excellent results if done correctly. You can use this exercise ball for many varieties such as jumping jacks, push-ups, lunges, etc. It creates resistance and thus burning calories and increasing the heat rate.

Winters can help in your workouts in many ways that you cannot get in the summers. For example, cold weather may actually improve endurance. Plus, winter exercise helps you get exposure to sunlight, which may help in warding off seasonal affective disorder, a type of depression that some people face during the winter months.
