Ribhav Verma (71-67) from Haryana took the first position in the IGU Eastern India Amateur Golf Championship 2025 at the Golmuri Golf Club with a two-day total of 6-under 138, after a Play-off with Tanish R. Gowda (68-70), finishing the round at second with a two-day total of 6-under 138.
Delhi’s Ranveer Mitroo (72-68) and Deepak Yadav (70-70) end the day tied for third with a two-day total of 4-under 140.
Chandigarh’s Ayaan Gupta (75-67) and Haryana’s Ayush Pannu (72-70) finished the round tied for fifth with a two-day total of 2-under 142. Chandigarh’s Ram Singh Mann (73-70), Haryana’s Ritesh (73-70), Uttar Pradesh’s Kanav Chauhan (73-70) and Haryana’s Harman Sachdeva (70-73) all finished the round tied for seventh. Delhi’s Yash Chaudhary (74-70), Delhi’s Chaitanya Pandey (74-70), Jharkhand’s Bimal Singh Sardar (74-70), Noida’s Parth Raman Sood (74-70), West Bengal’s Suveer Kapoor (74-70), Karnataka’s Jaiveer (73-71), Kolkata’s Samridh Sen, Delhi’s Pritish Singh Karayat (72-72) and Haryana’s Devin Singh (71-73) finished tied for eleventh with a two-day total of level par 144.
After today’s 2nd stroke play round, 32 had to be selected for the matchplay that starts tomorrow.
After the round, there was a playoff between Ribhav Verma and Tanish R. Godwa to determine who would be in first and second position. There was another playoff that took place between five players tied for 29th, out of which one was eliminated and four qualified for all 32 positions. Accordingly, the draw is made for 16 groups that are supposed to play in tomorrow’s round.
The Tournament Director, Mr. Prantor Baruah, director, mentioned that it was an interesting end of the strokeplay round, as we saw 5 people playing a playoff for 32nd position.
