The semi finale of the IGU 123^rd All India Amateur Golf Championship of India was held in the Chandigarh Golf Club on December 14, after the pre-quarter final and the quarter final rounds were held on December 13.

A total number of 16 players participated in the pre-quarter finals of the prestigious event. Arjun Singh Bhatia, Varun Muthappa, Ayaan Gupta, Aaditya Gupta, Anshul Mishra, Tushar Pannu, Anant S. Ahlawat and Ritesh qualified for the quarter final.

Ayaan Gupta and Varun Muthappa

Karnataka’s Varun Muthappa, and Chandigarh’s Ayaan Gupta faced off in the semi finals on December 14. Muthappa and Gupta put up a tough competition against each other. While Muthappa was 1-up over Gupta after three, and nine, they had an all square after thirteenth.

Muthappa was again 1-over Gupta after fifteen, but had an all square after eighteenth. Finally, Muthappa won over Gupta on the 19^th hole.

Anant S. Ahlawat and Anshul Mishra

West Bengal’s Anshul Mishra was pitted against Chandigarh’s Anant S. Ahlawat. Mishra made a thrilling start, and went 1-over Ahlawat after the second. While they were at an all square after eight and twelve, Ahlawat put up a tough competition, putting up 1-up over Mishra after thirteen.

After having an all square after the 16^th hole, Anshul Mishra won over Anant Ahlawat on the 18^th hole.

With the final round of the historic IGU 123^rd All India Amateur Golf Championship of India scheduled tomorrow, on December 15, at the Chandigarh Golf Club, anticipations builds, as West Bengal’s Anshul Mishra is about to face Karnataka’s Varun Muthappa in a tough competition.
