The 21st Interschool Golf Championship 2025 commenced on October 22nd at the Tollygunge Club. The inaugural day of the prestigious event saw over 100 budding golfers from different schools nationwide, excited to put up their best performance and win trophies by representing their schools. Over 17 schools all over the city participated in a competition against each other in the 21st edition of the prestigious tournament for junior golfers.

The first round of the 21st Inter-School Golf Championship 2025 was conducted in a Scramble format. The participants are divided into six different categories:

  1. Open category under 9 years
    ii. Open category under 13 years
    iii. Open category over 13 years
    iv. Under 9 years for girls
    v. Under 13 years for girls
    vi. Over 13 years for girls

Andrew Baid and Arghya Shah, representing La Martinier Boys, from the Overall Open category over 13 years, ended the first round with an impressive 6-under 64. Varish Mohta and Lakshya Agarwal from Calcutta International School finished the first round and lay second place in the Overall Over 13 category, with a score of 3 under 67.

Arrham Jain and Sartaj Singh Chandok, along with Shaurya Bhatnagar and Manan Bagrecha, Vedant Chatterjee and Kushagra Mundhra, also from La Martiniere School for Boys, put up a tough competition against their schoolmates, and are tied at the third position in the Overall Over 13 category with an even par score of 70 after the end of the first round.

Meanwhile, Anaahat Bindra from the Over 13 Girls category represented La Martiniere School for Girls and ended the first round with a score of 76. Julinka Roy Chowdhury, representing Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, ended the round at second place with a score of 81.  Tied at third are Ishikha Bansal and Adhvita Dhelia representing R.P. Goenka International School, Nahida Parvin from Delhi Public School, Megacity and Samaira Chitlangia, representing Modern High School, with a score of 82.

Armaan Bhoopal and Samarth Agarwal, representing La Martinier Boys as their team A, lead the Oaverall Under 13 Boys category with a score of 71. Hrian Khem and Akshansh Modi, who are also representing La Martinier for boys, as their team B, ended the round in second with a score of 74. Arkaprovo Chaudhury, representing The Newtown school, lay third after the first round, with a score of 76.

Shanaya Kajaria and Anaisha Agrawal, representing R.P. Goenka International School as their team B, lead the overall Under 13 Girls category with a score of 82. Vaasvi Himatsingka and Vaanyaa Rustagi, representing Modern High School International, lay second with a score of 84. At third lay Ahana Khaitan and Aarya Jhunjhunwala, representing R.P. Goenka International School as their team A, with a score of 86.

The Under 9 Overall and the Under 9 Girls categories played 9 holes on the inaugural round. In the Under 9 Overall category, the duo of Advika Agarwal and Aaira Khaitan, representing R.P. Goenka International School as their team 1, led the category with a score of 1-over 35. Currently, they also lead the Under 9 Girls category.

Noa Alma Munshi and Moksh Lakhotia, representing Calcutta International School, finished the round in second with a score of 38. Sara Kajaria and Rihaan Fogla finished the round in third with a score of 39.

In the Under 9 Girls Category, Anishka Agarwal and Viyaana Parakh, representing R.P. Goenka International Public School as their team 2, finished second with a score of 47. Ruhi Nayar, representing La Martinier for Girls, finished the round at third with a score of 51.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony will take place on October 23rd at Veedol Hall, Tollygunge Club. Dignitaries attending include Mr. Songit Bagrodia, President of Tollygunge Club; Mr. Hitesh Gurtu, Golf Captain of Tollygunge Club; Mrs. Sriranjani Joshi, Director of George Group of Colleges and Mr. Anil Bhargava, President of the Bengal Golf Association. In this prize distribution ceremony, the winners and runners up of the Interschool Skills Competition, which was held on October 17 at RCTC, will be felicitated with cash vouchers, medals and other exciting prizes.

Over the years, the Championship has seen the participation and rise of golfing prodigies like Udayjit Bhalotia, Viraj Madappa, Siddhi Kapoor and Anshul Mishra, to name a few among the others.
