Kanav Chauhan took lead after the opening round of the IGU All India Junior Boys Golf Championship 2025, which is being held at the ITC Classic Golf and Country Club, from December 2 to December 5.
Kanav shot a 6-under 66 in the first round, and took lead in the A&B Boys Combined category.
Chandigarh’s Krish Chawla and Delhi’s Sakshity Purendre shot a 3-under 69, and lay tied second in A&B Boys Combined category.
Sakshity also leads category B Boys.
Haryana’s Prince Bainsla, Delhi’s Vihaan Jain, Chandigarh’s Neil Jolly, Delhi’s Pritish Singh Karayat, and Haryana’s Jaibir Singh Kang, all lay tied fourth in the A&B Boys Combined category.
Haryana’s Jaibir Singh Kang (70) chased Sakshity in B Boys, while Haryana’s Aryan Pal lay third in category B Boys at an inaugural score of 1-under 71.
Punjab golfer Danish Verma shot an even par score of 72 and lay fourth in the category B Boys, followed by a group of golfers, including, West Bengal lad Advay Bagla, Karnataka’s Aditya Tewari and Haryana’s Shaurya Dagar, who lay tied fifth in category B Boys at a score of 76.
With their first round scheduled tomorrow, the participants of C Boys will tee off tomorrow, on December 3, and will play a total of 54 holes over three consecutive rounds.
