Nikhil Choudhury leads the North East Amateur Masters 2025 – the 12th Leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour, a key event on the Feeder Tour circuit, bringing together the finest amateur, senior, and ladies golfers from the region and across the country at the scenic Rhino Environment Park & Training Area in Assam.
The opening round of the North East Junior Masters 2025 commenced on December 6 with over 31 amateur, senior and ladies golfers teeing off.
Nikhil Choudhury shot a 3-over 74 and currently leads the Amateur and Mid-Amateur categories.
Shooting a 79, Aditya Bordolai lay second in the Amateur and Mid-Amateur categories, followed by Bimal Kumar Pandey, who shot an 80, to lay third in the Amateur and Mid-Amateur categories.
S. Abbasi shot a 2-over 73 and currently leads the Senior category. Incidentally, Abbasi’s score is the best score of the day among the Amateur, Senior and Ladies golfers.
Kalyan Sahu shot a 75 and lay second in Senior category, followed by Dhrubajyoti Baruah, who shot an 81, to lay third in the Senior category.
K. Indrajit leads the Super Senior category with an 83, followed by Samarendra Basumatary, who shot an 86 and lay second in the Super Senior category.
Pradeep Nunisa and Budhin Deuri jointly lay third in the Super Senior category at a score of 91.
Meanwhile, in the NETT category, S. Abbasi leads with 65 NETT points, followed by Nikhil Choudhury, and Kalyan Sahu, who lay second and third with 67 and 68 NETT points respectively.
Organised under the guidance of the BGA, the championship continues to strengthen its role in developing golf talent among junior golfers all over the country, especially in the North East.

The North East Junior & Amateur Masters has grown steadily over the years, offering a competitive platform for young and emerging golfers. The event plays an important role in promoting structured junior and amateur participation, strengthening the Feeder Tour pathway, and inspiring new talent in the region.
