The IGU Eastern India Amateur Golf Championship 2025, held at the Golmuri Golf Course, concluded today. Pritish Singh Karayat from Delhi emerged as the eventual winner after a thrilling 36-hole neck-to-neck battle with Haryana’s Ribhav Verma, who finished as the runner-up. A brief prize distribution ceremony was held at the Beldhi Club, where Mr. Farzan Heerjee, council member of the IGU, presented the runner-up trophy, while Mr. Alan Singh, a legendary golfer of yesteryear and multiple-time winner of this very title, presented the winner’s trophy.

Tournament director Mr Prantor Baruah added , ” It was scintillating golf with somebody or the other coming up with a beautiful chip or a putt or an approach shot. Ribhav Verma, 3 down through 32 (14th), hit the green on the 33rd (15th) and missed his eagle putt, and settled for a birdie. Pritish Singh Karayat hit his second shot close to the pin and birdied it to halve the hole.

On 34th (16th) again, both hit their second shot close to the green, and Pritish Singh Karayat with a wonderful chip got a birdie but Ribhav Verma could not match up, leaving Pritish with 4up to win the tournament”.
