The prestigious Tolly Cup 2025, presented by Seiko, wrapped up on December 14 at the iconic Tollygunge Club. Known as one of India’s largest golf tournaments in terms of participation, this year’s event saw 450 participants competing over four days in the Team Nett Modified Strokeplay format.
The overall champions were the team of SK. Paul, Sabyasachi Hajara, Dr. Milan Kundu and Gautam Mitra, who clinched the Tolly Cup with a total team score of 207. The runner-up team, comprising Varun Jhajharia, Trishit Majumdar, Col. Abhishek Ranjan and Saurav Banerjee, finished close behind with a score of 211.
In the Best Gross Score category, the top team consisted of Gaurav Ghosh, Vedant Daga, Pavan Ghai and Sanjiv Mehra, who posted a gross team score of 223. Individually, Pavan Ghai emerged with the best gross score of the tournament, carding two-over-par 72, while Rahul Sethi recorded the best nett score of 63. Among the ladies, Saroj Saran secured the best individual nett score with 69, and Nirmal Khanna led the senior category with a nett score of 31.
The competition also featured division-specific honours:
• Division A winners: Himanshu Jatia, Akshay Bajoria, Ishan Bajoria, and Yash Jalan (Score: 214).
• Division B winners Col Feroz Khan, Col BL Das, Col Hafiz Khan, and Col Krishanu Roy (Score: 213).
• Division C winners: Nirupama Tiwary, Brig Anup Tiwary, Col Kaustav Chattapadhyay and Col Rajesh Kumar (Score: 212).
• Division D winners: Vandana Agarwal, Sunita Goenka, Saroj Saran and Sonia Barman (Score: 216).
In the senior category, the winning team of Jagmohan Mehra, HS Sidhu, Arijit Ghose and LB Singh scored 102.5, edging out the runner-up team of Sk Menon, CP Sharma, Deepak Tandon and Subir Sen, who scored 108.5.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Mr AS Ravishankar, Senior Vice President and CFO Seiko; PS Barman, President of the Tollygunge Club Mr Songit Bagrodia; Hitesh Gurtu, Golf Captain of the Tollygunge Club; and Shubhojit Nag, Vice Captain of the Tollygunge Club. The title sponsor was Seiko & the tournament was managed by Protouch Sports.
