Austin Smotherman (-11) maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard after Round 2 of the Cognizant Classic, adding a steady -2 to his opening -9. His composed play has kept him clear of the chasing pack, though the gap has narrowed. Taylor Moore (-8) climbed into second place with a strong -4, showing consistency and keeping himself firmly in contention. Nico Echavarria (-7), who impressed in Round 1, slipped slightly with a +1, but remains tied for third alongside AJ Ewart (-7), who surged with a brilliant -7 round to join the leaders.

Joel Dahmen (-6) sits in fifth after a solid -3, while a large group at -5, including Hank Lebioda, Aaron Rai, Shane Lowry, John Stanger, Mark Hubbard, Kristoffer Reitan, and Pontus Nyholm, are all within striking distance. Just behind at -4, Chad Ramey, William Mouw, Michael Brennan, Daniel Berger, and Seamus Power round out the top contenders heading into the weekend.

Smotherman has kept himself in control at the top, but with Moore, Echavarria, and Ewart pressing close, the Cognizant Classic is shaping up for an exciting third round. With so many players tightly packed near the top, Round 3 promises momentum swings and plenty of drama on the course.
