Ludvig Åberg (-12) surged into the lead at TPC Sawgrass with a brilliant second-round 63, highlighted by nine birdies that showcased his precision and confidence on the iconic course. His performance has given him a two-shot cushion heading into the weekend. Xander Schauffele (-10) sits in second after a composed -7, keeping himself firmly in contention. Cameron Young (-9) follows close behind, adding a steady -5 to his opening round to remain within striking distance.

 

Justin Thomas (-8) and Corey Conners (-8) share fourth place, both producing consistent play to stay in the hunt. Sepp Straka (-7) is just behind, while a group at -6 including Maverick McNealy, Lee Hodges, Jacob Bridgeman remain competitive. Further down, Michael Thorbjornsen (-5), Brian Harman (-5), Tommy Fleetwood (-5), Viktor Hovland (-5), and Russell Henley (-5) round out the top ten, all within seven shots of the lead.

 

Åberg’s commanding play has set the tone, but with Schauffele, Young, and a host of world-class names chasing, the weekend promises drama and momentum swings. The Stadium Course at Sawgrass is known for its unpredictability, and with the famous 17th island green looming, Round 3 is set to test nerves and shape the battle for the title.
