In a sport that demands patience, precision, and quiet resilience, few journeys begin with certainty. For Harman Sachdeva, the path into golf started simply as a young boy accompanying his father to the course, but quickly grew into something far more defining.
“I was introduced to golf at the age of 7 by my father, who would often take me along to the course,” he recalls. “However, it was at 11, when I went to watch an ADT event at the Karnataka Golf Association, that everything changed.”
That moment watching professionals compete at close quarters lit a fire. It wasn’t just admiration; it was recognition. “Seeing the professionals compete at that level made me realise that I wanted to pursue this sport seriously,” he says. That same event also marked the beginning of another crucial chapter, as he met his first coach, setting the foundation for his development.
Built on Inspiration and Discipline
Like many modern golfers, Sachdeva’s game has been shaped by watching the very best. He draws inspiration from icons such as Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, and India’s own Anirban Lahiri.
But his influences stretch beyond the fairways.
“Outside of golf, I really admire Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer for their mindset, discipline, and consistency over the years,” he shares a telling insight into the mentality he strives to build within himself.

The Team Behind the Player
While golf may appear to be an individual sport, Sachdeva is quick to acknowledge the collective effort behind his journey.
“A lot of the work happens behind the scenes, and I’m extremely grateful to my parents, coaches, and my entire team for their constant support,” he says. “My parents have played a key role in shaping me into a disciplined and grounded individual, while my coaches have helped me develop my game and compete at a high level.”
It’s a reminder that behind every composed swing lies years of unseen sacrifice, structure, and support.
Moments That Define a Career
Every golfer carries a mental scrapbook of rounds, shots, and milestones that resurface in quiet moments. For Sachdeva, a few stand above the rest.
“Representing India and wearing the national blazer at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship was truly a dream come true,” he reflects.
That sense of pride is matched by personal breakthroughs. “My first top-5 finish as a professional was another special milestone,” he adds. Yet, it’s often the moments within tournaments that reveal a player’s true character.
“One memory that stands out is shooting a 6-under round on the back nine during a tournament in Indonesia, which helped me move significantly up the leaderboard.”
That surge-controlled aggression under pressure is the kind of performance that separates contenders from the rest.
Courses, Competition, and Craft
When it comes to the game itself, Sachdeva appreciates both artistry and power. He enjoys watching players like Lahiri, McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau, each bringing a distinct style to the modern game.
His taste in courses reflects a similar appreciation for challenge and character. “I particularly enjoy the Majlis Course in Dubai and the DLF Golf and Country Club,” he says, venues known for testing every aspect of a golfer’s skillset.
Eyes on the Ultimate Prize
For all the milestones already achieved, Sachdeva’s ambitions remain firmly fixed on the biggest stages.
“My ultimate dream is to win the Grand Slam and bring home an Olympic gold medal for India.”
It’s a bold vision, the kind that demands not just talent, but relentless commitment. Yet, if his journey so far is any indication, Sachdeva is not one to shy away from the scale of his dreams. There’s something quietly compelling about his story. No noise, no theatrics, just steady progression, clear intent, and a deep respect for the game. And somewhere between those early days at the course with his father and the roar of future galleries, Harman Sachdeva is building something special, one swing, one round, one belief at a time.
