Alex Smalley (-6) stayed composed at Aronimink Golf Club to retain the lead after Round 3 of the PGA Championship. His steady -2 round kept him two shots clear of a tightly packed group of challengers.
Just behind at -4, a formidable chasing pack includes Ludvig Åberg, Jon Rahm, Nick Taylor, Aaron Rai, and Matti Schmid. Taylor and Schmid impressed with matching -5 rounds, while Rahm and Rai added sharp -3 scores to keep themselves firmly in contention. Åberg’s consistency has also kept him within striking distance heading into Sunday.
At -3, Maverick McNealy, Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy, and Patrick Reed remain in the hunt. Schauffele and McIlroy both posted -4 rounds to climb the leaderboard, while Reed’s -3 kept him in touch with the leaders.
