June 11, 2026; Aryan Roopa Anand, who broke through the Indian golf scene with back-to-back wins at the prestigious All India Amateur titles, finally found a place in the winners’ circle in professional golf in the far-off and scenic Lubumbashi Golf Course in Congo on the AM Green IGPL Tour.

Now Aryan, the latest winner on the AM Green IGPL Tour,  makes his debut at a higher level, the $ 2m International Series Morocco presented by Visit Morocco in Rabat, Morocco. The 25-year-old Aryan was thrilled with the chance as he looks forward to what he calls is a bit of ‘fan kid moment’ as he plays in a field that has Masters champions Bubba Watson and Sergio Garcia.

He said, “I am grateful to AM Green IGPL and International Series for extending me an invite for this week. Super excited to take part in a packed field and share the stage with major champs like Bubba and Sergio, a bit of a fan kid moment.

He added, “Royal Dar E Salam is a beautiful track with subtle challenges on the course. I got two good practice rounds with SSP (Chawrasia) on the first day and with Anirban (Lahiri) the next day. I am happy with the preparation this week and how the game is feeling.”

Aryan, who represents RVR Infra team in the AM Green IGPL is now trying  build on the win in Congo and also make up for a couple of disappointing results in Morocco, where he missed the cut at the AM Green IGPL Rising Stars Morocco which was co-sanctioned with the Asian Development Tour, and the AM Green IGPL Bharath Classic, which was co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour.

The field sees 10 Indians, including the in-form Karandeep Kochhar and Gaganjeet Bhullar, India’s most successful player on the Asian Tour with 11 wins. However, Bhullar is still looking for his first International Series win.

Apart from Aryan, the others Indians in the field include LIV golfer Anirban Lahiri, IGPL stars Udayan Mane and SSP Chawrasia. Also in the field are Shaurya Bhattacharya, Rashid Khan, Ajeetesh Sandhu, and Shubham Jaglan.

Speaking about his win in Congo and the journey before it, Aryan said, “It’s been, four years since I turned pro and the first win was quite elusive. I had enough and more opportunities and close calls but I was just not able to piece three or four rounds together, earlier, and I’m glad that, I was able to put three good rounds together in Congo and. win a play-off with (Udayan) Mane.

“It’s been, you know, a lot of consistency and hard work, which goes beyond the four years as a pro; you know, changes in coaches, swing mechanics, and also in other thought processes. So, a big credit to my coaches, Jesse (Grewal) Sir and Sujjan Singh, my team, psychologist and trainer.

So, I think, you know, the biggest difference that has been is kind of prioritising, you know, the process of thinking right, eating right, training right, and, you know, kind of allowing the outcome to just become a by-product of all the good work that happens behind closed doors.

Adding more on the event in Congo, Aryan said, “Lubumbashi Golf Course, Congo was a very welcoming event. It was very well hosted by the Federation of Congo, they were very hospitable and the golf course honestly took me by surprise for scenic and how good the layout was.  I felt like the golf course Coast was right up my alley – tree lined, a lot of wedges, and it kind of played to my strengths. Honestly got the putter going a little hotter on the final two days and that was pretty much how, you know, I was able to shoot lower numbers (6-under and 8-under in the last two rounds). Just to kind of top it all off, I think it was super elated with how I kept my calm and composure through the week. I was very happy to celebrate it with very dear friends that play on tour, what now has become the IGPL family as well.”
