Momentum swung dramatically at the 2026 Presidents Cup as the International Team produced a flawless Friday performance to overturn an early deficit and build a 7-3 lead over the United States after two days of competition at Medinah Country Club.

The Americans edged the opening four-ball session 3-2 on Thursday, with victories from the pairings of Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, Justin Thomas and Jackson Koivun, and Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark. The International Team stayed within touching distance thanks to wins from Hideki Matsuyama and Ryo Hisatsune, along with the Korean duo of Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim.

Friday’s foursomes session, however, belonged entirely to the Internationals. In a stunning turnaround, the visitors swept all five matches to turn a one-point deficit into a commanding four-point advantage heading into the weekend.

Corey Conners and Nick Taylor set the tone with a 1-up win over Scheffler and Burns, while Sungjae Im and Hideki Matsuyama, Ryan Fox and Min Woo Lee, Adam Scott and Christiaan Bezuidenhout, and Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim all contributed full points to complete the clean sweep.

The partnership of Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim has emerged as one of the standout stories of the opening two days, remaining unbeaten and providing plenty of energy for Geoff Ogilvy’s side. Their efforts have helped the International Team establish its strongest position in the competition in years.

With two sessions still to be played on Saturday before Sunday’s singles matches, the contest remains far from over. Yet after two days at Medinah, the International Team holds both the scoreboard advantage and the momentum as it pursues a rare Presidents Cup victory.
