Michael Brennan (-16) captured the Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club, closing with a composed 3-under-par 67 to secure a one-shot victory. The American held his nerve down the stretch, finishing atop a tightly contested leaderboard to claim one of the biggest wins of his career.
Americans Keith Mitchell (-15) and Jacob Bridgeman (-15) shared second after solid final rounds of -3 and -2, respectively. Both stayed in contention throughout Sunday but couldn’t catch Brennan over the closing holes.
At -13, a five-way tie for fourth featured Stephan Jaeger, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Smith, Ryan Gerard, and Brian Harman. Schauffele and Harman both produced strong -4 rounds, while Gerard’s -3 kept him among the leaders until the final stretch.
The home crowd had plenty to cheer about as Ryosuke Yonezawa (-12) fired a superb -7 final round to climb into a share of ninth alongside Min Woo Lee (-12), Sungjae Im (-12), and Zach Bauchou (-12). Yonezawa’s closing charge was one of the standout performances of the day.
