New Delhi, October 12, 2026: Gaganjeet Bhullar arrives at the DP World India Championship fresh from another AM Green Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) victory, Karandeep Kochhar brings growing confidence from a string of strong performances, and Shiv Kapur has the experience of winning internationally at the very course where the US$4 million DP World India championship will be played.

The AM Green IGPL trio will now test themselves against a world-class international field featuring Rory McIlroy, six-time Major champion and two-time defending Masters champion, alongside Aaron Rai, the 2026 PGA Championship winner, and Ryan Fox, the 2026 winner of the Open.

Other Major champions include Shane Lowry, Patrick Reed, Justin Rose and Danny Willett, who will add further strength to a world-class line-up that has seven Major champions in all, and they have 13 Majors between them.

Their recent AM Green IGPL results underline their readiness for the challenge. Gaganjeet Bhullar and Karandeep Kochhar finished first and second at the Krishna Invitational Hyderabad presented by Punjab Raptors GC last week, while Shiv Kapur was third at the RVR Delhi Blue Bulls GC event a week earlier. Gaganjeet Bhullar and Karandeep Kochhar had also finished fourth and tied-fifth respectively in Delhi, while Kapur was runner-up and Bhullar tied-fourth in Ras Al Khaimah.

Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of AM Green IGPL, said: “Gaganjeet, Karandeep and Shiv have been among AM Green IGPL’s standout performers. They now get the chance to test that form against the world’s best, and their years of experience at Delhi Golf Club could be a big advantage.”

He added, “This event will showcase the talent that heads the AM Green IGPL field each week in and outside India. We have had a series of events in Africa, Middle East and the AM Green IGPL Tour will now be travelling in India. But before that our star players will compete alongside the best in the world.”

AM Green, the title sponsors of the AM Green IGPL Tour are also Platinum partners at the DP World India Championship.

Gaganjeet Bhullar, 38, could hardly have asked for a better build-up. He won the Krishna Invitational Hyderabad presented by Krishna Punjab Raptors GC with rounds of 65, 66 and 65 for a 14-under 196 total, beating Kochhar by three shots. It was his fifth AM Green IGPL title and second of the 2026 season.

“I drove the ball really well, which was crucial on such narrow fairways,” Gaganjeet Bhullar said, reflecting on his AM Green IGPL Hyderabad win. “I’m looking forward to playing across India. I have spent most of my professional career competing on the Asian and European circuits, and the DP World India Championship gives me another opportunity to test myself against a world-class field.”

With 11 Asian Tour victories Bhullar is one of India’s most successful international golfers. The latest of his wins was the 2023 Indonesian Masters, where Karandeep Kochhar was the runner-up.

Karandeep Kochhar, meanwhile, is making steady progress on the international circuit. His runner-up finish in Hyderabad was powered by a final-round 64, the lowest score of the day, taking him to 11-under 199.

The Chandigarh golfer finished fourth at the Philippine Golf Championship in February after carrying a two-shot lead into the final round and followed it with a tied-fifth finish at the International Series Japan. He was also Tied-9th at the AM Green IGPL Bharath Classic, which was co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour.

He also won the AM Green IGPL Tour event in UAE late last year.

His win at the Red Sea Open on the Asian Development Tour in Egypt in 2025, helped him regain his Asian Tour playing status.

Those results suggest Karandeep Kochhar is increasingly capable of contending against strong international fields. The DP World India Championship will offer another opportunity to turn that promise into a major breakthrough performance.

Shiv Kapur, 44, brings a different strength: experience and a proven record at Delhi Golf Club. A former Asian Games individual gold medallist in 2002 and a three-time Asian Tour winner, he captured the 2005 Volvo Masters of Asia before winning the Yeangder Heritage and Panasonic Open India in 2017. The latter came at his home course, the DGC, where local knowledge could prove valuable.

Shiv Kapur has also been working on his fitness at a special camp in Thailand, and his recent scores suggest he remains competitive. At the AM Green IGPL Invitational in Ras Al Khaimah in September, he opened with a course-record-equalling 10-under 62, a reminder that he is playing exceptional golf.

For Gaganjeet Bhullar, the championship is a chance to extend his winning rhythm on a bigger stage. Karandeep Kochhar will look to build on his growing international consistency, while Shiv Kapur will draw on his experience and familiarity with the Delhi Golf Club course, which has been his playground ever since he took the first steps in his golfing journey.

With the home crowd behind them, the AM Green IGPL trio will hope their recent form translates into a strong showing against some of the biggest names in world golf.
