Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, was recently seen near the Los Angeles Country Club, where the ongoing US Open 2023 is being held. While Tiger himself is not participating in the tournament, Charlie’s presence generated considerable attention.

At the nearby Riviera Golf Club, Charlie was spotted honing his skills under the watchful eye of Lucas Wald, a former professional golfer turned instructor. A brief video clip shared by Wald showcased the 14-year-old prodigy teeing off at Riviera. Charlie also took the opportunity to witness the third major of the season, held at the North Course of LACC.

Ever since his impressive performance at the 2021 PNC Championship, where he and his father achieved 11 consecutive birdies and secured a runner-up finish, Charlie has continued to enhance his game. In April, he secured a commendable T9 finish at the PGA National Junior Open, followed by a triumph at the 36-hole Hurricane Tour’s Major Championship, held at the Village Golf Course in Florida.

Justin Leonard, whose own son attends the same school as Charlie, lauded the young golfer’s skills. During the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, Leonard drew parallels between Charlie and his iconic father while observing the former compete in a junior club championship in Florida.

Despite bookmakers offering odds of 1500 to 1 on Charlie Woods clinching a major victory before turning 22, it is evident that he still has a long journey ahead. Nevertheless, his dedication and progress have captivated the golfing world, making him a promising figure to watch in the future.
