Carding a solid 4-under 68 at Spyglass Hill, Atwal is now tied for third place, just two strokes behind the tournament leaders. In the second round of this prestigious event, Justin Leonard surged ahead with a 7-under 65 at Spyglass Hill, putting him in prime position for his first PGA TOUR Champions victory in his 19th appearance.Leonard’s stellar performance at Spyglass Hill matched the best round of the tournament so far, and it has set the stage for an exciting final two rounds. Meanwhile, India’s Arjun Atwal is making a strong push to become the first open qualifier to win on PGA TOUR Champions since Dicky Pride achieved the feat at the 2021 Mitsubishi Electric Championship. Atwal managed a solid 4-under 68 at Spyglass Hill, putting him within two strokes of the tournament leaders.In another notable highlight from the day, Paul Stankowski etched his name in the record books by tying the PGA TOUR Champions all-time record for most-consecutive birdies. Stankowski accomplished this remarkable feat with eight consecutive birdies on Holes 13 through 2 at Pebble Beach. In total, he carded nine birdies, leading to an impressive 7-under 65.The First Tee junior portion of the competition also showcased budding talent.
