In an exhilarating opening round of the IGU Amateur East Zone Feeder Tour 2023 event- Protouch Amateur & Junior Golf Championship 2023, Ribhav Verma showcased his golfing prowess by carding an impressive 3-under-par 67, seizing the lead at the Tollygunge club in Kolkata.Not far behind, Rudraksha Banerjee delivered a commendable performance, carding a 2-under-par 68 in the Amateur Category, trailing Verma by just one stroke. In the Mid Amateur category, Mayukh Ray took the lead with a score of 3-over-par 73. Abhisekh Mitra and COL RS Bhandari struggled, both shooting 16-over-par 86. Among the Seniors, Sudip Chitlangia demonstrated his mastery of the course, leading with a score of 6-over-par 76, while Jaideep Chitlangia posted a score of 12-over-par 82.In the Super Seniors category, Ashit Luthra led the way with a score of 89. He was closely followed by Sumit Banerjee and BV Srihari Rao, both of whom recorded scores of 91.The IGU Junior East Zone Feeder Tour 2023 event also features a junior division, where young talents are making their mark. In the A&B Boys category, Aarav Kapoor displayed an impressive performance, leading with a score of 11-over-par 81, closely followed by Aditya Khaitan, who posted a score of 13-over-par 83.In the B Boys division, Arrham Jain is setting the pace with a score of 87, and Andrew Baid is trailing closely with a score of 88. Among the C Boys category, Aranyak Chakraborty leads with 89, followed by Krishiv Rungta with 90. In the A&B Girls division, Gauri Sharma is leading with a score of 84, followed by Priya Kumari, who posted a score of 88. In the C&D Girls category, Julinka Roychowdhury is at the forefront with a score of 87, and Nahida Parvin is following closely with a score of 94. In the Under 9 years junior category, E Boys, Harshit Raj Singh is leading with a score of 39, and Parikshet More is following with a score of 46. E Girls, Ahana Khaitan is ahead with a score of 49, while Rasmeet Khanuja is closely trailing with a score of 57. This event is also recognized by the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), and amateurs will be competing in three rounds of golf to determine the ultimate victor.

The tour’s education partner was The Champ for Life Academy, the outdoor media partner was Balaji Ads and the online proshop partner was Golfedge.
