Ranveer Mitroo, Vihaan Jain and Aditya Misra sealed victory from their respective categories in the NCR Junior Boys Cup organized by IGU at the Jaypee Wishtown Golf Course (Noida Golf Course) concluded on September 20. Four rounds were played from September 17 in which over a total number of 92 junior golfers took part. The number of participants eventually came down to 55 after the cut.  

Ranveer Mitroo from A Boys started off with one under par on the first round, after which his score escalated to two under par and seven under par at the end of the second and the third rounds respectively. He opened the final round with a birdie at the par 4 first, followed by four other birdies and ended the day with an even par. His striking score of ten under par made him the winner not only from A Boys but from A&B Boys respectively. 

Haryana’s Vihaan Jain from B Boys inaugurated with one over par, but showed better performance on the second and the third rounds scoring three and two under par respectively. Scoring three birdies, he went on to secure the champion’s position from his category with a total score of three under par. However, Vihaan has secured the ninth position from the combined category of A&B Boys. 

The tournament for the C Boys was over three rounds. Delhi’s Aditya Misra from C Boys started with one and three under par on the first and and the second rounds respectively. Ending the third round with a one over par, he earned a total score of three under par to secure win from his category. 

Uttar Pradesh’s Parth Raman Sood from A Boys was in hot pursuit of Ranveer. Though he made a better start than Ranveer, he ended the final round with a total score of 8 under par and secured the second position. Chandigarh’s Krish Chawla secured the third position from A Boys with a total score of seven under par. Both Sood and Chawla have also secured the positions of the first and the second runners up respectively from the A&B Boys. 

Chandigarh’s Neil Jolly from B Boys put up a tough competition against Vihaan and ended the final round with a score of one under par. Haryana’s Shaurya Dagar finished the final round with a level par and secured the third position from the B Boys. Delhi’s Vidit Aggarwal and Haryana’s Dhruv V. Singh from C Boys secured the second and the third positions with final scores of 213 and 214 respectively after the final round. 

This tour is a part of the IGU National Junior Boys tour. The event highlighted the dedication and talent of junior golfers across the country, assuring a bright future of golf for India. The camaraderie and sportsmanship that the junior golfers showed reflected the true spirit golf as the tour ended with great golfing moments.
